Graduate Nurse and Transition to Practice Programs

The Hospital includes; 147 beds across 5 Wards providing Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Services, combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, 7 Operating Suites, Catheter Laboratory, Day of Surgery Admission and Day Infusion/Oncology Services.

  • 2 Intakes a year – February and May
  • A 10 month Graduate Program contract at 0.8 EFT (8 shifts per fortnight, flexible rotating roster)
  • 2 rotations on our 5 specialized in patient units with a potential opportunity of a specialty rotation
  • Extensive Orientation Program
  • Supernumerary time
  • Paid Study Days
  • A supportive team environment including a Graduate Nurse Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educators and dedicated clinical preceptors
  • With opportunities to continue with ongoing employment post successful completion of your program. Including supported post graduate education in areas including Critical Care and Peri Operative.
  • 2 Intakes a year
  • A 20-week Transition to Practice Program at 0.8 EFT (8 shifts per fortnight, flexible rotating roster) rotation on one of our 5 specialised inpatient units with opportunities to continue with ongoing employment post successful completion of your program
  • A supportive team environment including a Graduate Nurse Coordinator, Clinical Nurse Educators and dedicated clinical preceptors
  • Extensive Orientation Program
  • Supernumerary time
  • Paid Study Days.

We welcome applications from registered nurses and enrolled nurses who are approaching graduation or recently graduated. Before you can commence work, and therefore your graduate program, you will require registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
